ethos and aims

Founded in 1997 by lay Catholics, St. Edmund Campion Academy is a private, independent, coeducational preparatory school, grades one to twelve, with a distinctively Catholic ethos. As a small school, Campion provides an education that is marked by individual attention and by a close-knit, talented community of students and parents, teachers and administrators.

Campion assists parents in the intellectual, moral, physical, and spiritual education of their children. Built upon the foundation of a Classical liberal arts curriculum, personal character formation, and close collaboration with parents, a Campion education challenges each student to cultivate intellect and character, leadership and service, faith and reason.

Campion is a member of the National Association of Private Catholic* and Independent Schools (NAPC*IS). This organization exists to reinforce the identity and resolve of member schools to live up to their mission. Membership standards also dictate that schools meet certain technical requirements, including nonprofit status, non-discrimination policies and sound fiscal practices. NAPC*IS also acts as an accreditation body, as well as a strong professional support system for member schools. Campion is currently in the process of NAPC*IS accreditation.

* Membership in NAPC*IS does not imply affiliation with the member's local diocese. St. Edmund Campion Academy is not affiliated with the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, nor does it receive any financial support from the Archdiocese of Cincinnati or any of its institutions or parishes.

St. Edmund Campion is proud to announce that it has received an "honorable mention for academic excellence" in the Acton Institute's 2007 Catholic High School Honor Roll.
